The mission of CancerSourceKids.com is to be a secure site where children can learn about cancer in a fun and interactive manner. The site will provide children with an opportunity to read cancer information, play interactive games, and learn coping strategies. The site is customized for children and teenagers who have cancer and children and teenagers whose sibling has cancer. The site is customized for age to allow for differences in the type of information, reading level, and the kinds of games that appeal to both groups.

CancerSource.com was founded in 1999 through an alliance with Jones and Bartlett Publishers, a leading publisher of cancer textbooks authored by some of the most respected nurses and practicing oncologists today. CancerSourceKids.com was started in 2000 through an exclusive partnership with the Association of Pediatric Oncology Nurses (APON). APON materials were used to develop the medical information on the site. All of the medical information on the site has been reviewed by pediatric oncology nurses or doctors.
